  • First, I almost didn’t pick up this book because the cover is just so boring– I was expecting the “inside” of the book to be boring, too. What cover designer puts white text on a yellow/orange background? Ugh! As an author myself, I would never have authorized a cover like this. The title is not good, either. To me, it implied that the book was full of dumb things that people do with money. Or that the book was just about credit cards, which it’s not.

But I knew the author had written the book “Debt-Free Living” and I knew that book was good, so I decided to go for it.

This book was a pleasant surprise! It is very well thought out, and the writing is designed to be easy to understand for regular people. The author used a “question and answer” format, based on actual questions that she received over the years from readers that had burning questions about personal finance. Some of the questions range from super easy, such as “What is interest?” to much more complex questions about retirement plans and identity theft.

This is a very good choice for people who are struggling with their personal finances and are looking for a book that is very easy to understand, fun to read, and gives solid advice.
